An illustrated story by Little Lantern · Kids · Cartoon · All ages · English, Turkish

Also in: Türkçe

A cat and a dog open a bakery and accidentally bake a loaf the size of a house.

Pickle the cat and Pepper the dog finally open their bakery. Pepper pours in all the yeast, and the dough grows out of the oven, out of the door and into the square, right in front of Grandpa Hedgehog, the grumpiest food critic in the village. One bite changes everything.

Characters

  • Pickle (Baker cat): A careful orange cat who follows every recipe to the gram.
  • Pepper (Baker dog): A tall, enthusiastic spotted dog who believes more is always better.
  • Grandpa Hedgehog (Food critic): The village food critic, who has not liked anything since 1987.

Episode 1: Too Much Yeast

Opening day. Pepper decides the dough needs all the yeast. The dough decides to grow.

Pickle and Pepper proudly open their bakery.

Pepper the spotted dog and Pickle the orange cat stand proudly in front of their tiny round-doored bakery on the village square, bunting overhead.

Pepper: Our bakery opens today!

Pickle: What could possibly go wrong?

Pepper pours in an entire sack of yeast.

Pepper happily upends a huge sack into a mixing bowl in a cloud of powder while Pickle leaps in horror, fur standing on end.

Pickle: Pepper! That's ALL the yeast!

The dough swells out of the oven.

A giant puffy blob of dough bulges out of the round brick oven and fills half the bakery; Pepper backs away pointing, Pickle hides behind the counter.

BLOOP!

Pepper: It's... growing.

Episode 2: The Giant Loaf

The loaf rolls into the square, Grandpa Hedgehog takes a bite, and the whole village has lunch.

A house-sized loaf bursts into the square.

A golden loaf of bread as big as a house bursts out of the bakery door into the square; Pickle sits stuck on top, Grandpa Hedgehog glares in the foreground.

Grandpa Hedgehog: What is THIS?

Grandpa Hedgehog tastes it and is amazed.

Close-up of Grandpa Hedgehog biting a fluffy chunk of bread, eyes sparkling, his monocle popping off in delight.

Grandpa Hedgehog: The fluffiest bread I've ever tasted!

The whole village shares the loaf.

High angle: a long picnic table in the square, animal villagers sharing slices of the giant loaf; Pepper slices, Pickle eats, Grandpa Hedgehog raises a slice and cheers.

Pickle: Same recipe tomorrow?

Pepper: Maybe half the yeast.
