Captain Barnacle's Lost Tooth

A clumsy pirate captain loses his famous gold tooth, and his crew chase it across the islands to a grumpy giant crab.

Captain Barnacle is proud of his shiny gold tooth, until a rock-hard ship biscuit knocks it out and a seagull flies off with it. With his sharp cabin girl Marisol and his parrot Señor Plumas, he chases the gull to Crab Rock, home of Don Pinzas, a giant crab who hoards everything shiny. Fighting is hopeless, but Marisol notices what the crab really wants.

Characters

Captain Barnacle (Pirate captain): A big, loud, clumsy pirate captain who is very proud of his gold tooth.
Marisol (Cabin girl): The ship's twelve-year-old cabin girl, the cleverest sailor aboard.
Señor Plumas (Parrot): The captain's parrot, a dramatic lookout who repeats everything loudly.
Don Pinzas (Giant crab): A grumpy giant crab who hoards everything shiny on Crab Rock.

Episode 1: Where's My Tooth?

A ship biscuit knocks out the captain's gold tooth, a seagull steals it, and the chase ends at the feared Crab Rock.

Captain Barnacle shows off his gold tooth. — Captain Barnacle had the shiniest smile on the seven seas.
Captain Barnacle: Har har! Another fine day!

A rock-hard ship biscuit knocks the tooth out. — CRACK!
Captain Barnacle: Me tooth!

The tooth bounces across the deck. — Marisol: Catch it!
Señor Plumas: Squawk! Overboard! Overboard!

A seagull snatches it in mid-air. — Marisol: A seagull took it!

The toothless captain orders the chase. — Captain Barnacle: Shet the shailsh! Follow that gull!

The ship chases the gull across the islands. — They chased that gull across three islands.

From the crow's nest, Marisol sees where it lands. — Marisol: It dropped it on Crab Rock!

They land on the beach of Crab Rock. — Captain Barnacle: Crab Rock? Nobody comesh back from Crab Rock...

Inside the cave, a mountain of shiny things. — Señor Plumas: Look at all that treasure!
Marisol: Shh. Something's moving.

The giant crab rises from the pile. — Don Pinzas: WHO TOUCHES MY SHINIES?
Captain Barnacle: Uh-oh.

Episode 2: The Grumpy Giant Crab

Fighting is hopeless, so Marisol offers Don Pinzas a deal: the crew will make him the shiniest thing on the island.

Don Pinzas refuses to give the tooth back. — SNAP!
Don Pinzas: Finders keepers! That shiny is mine now.

The captain tries to look fearsome. — Captain Barnacle: I am the fearsome Captain Barnacle!
Don Pinzas: You whistle when you talk.

Marisol notices the crab's dull, scratched shell. — Marisol: He doesn't want gold. He wants to shine.

Marisol offers a deal. — Marisol: Mister Crab, what if we made YOU the shiniest thing here?
Don Pinzas: ...Go on.

The whole crew polishes the giant shell. — The whole crew polished all afternoon.

Don Pinzas admires his gleaming shell. — Don Pinzas: I'm... gorgeous!

The crab hands back the tooth. — Don Pinzas: A deal is a deal, toothless.

The smile is back. — CLICK!
Captain Barnacle: Har har! The shmile is back! Er... smile.

Marisol becomes first mate. — Captain Barnacle: Marisol, from today you are my first mate!
Señor Plumas: Squawk! Promotion!

The ship sails off as the shiny crab waves. — And Crab Rock became the shiniest island on the seven seas.
Captain Barnacle: No more ship biscuits for me!
